Phish email warning for registered user

I've just recieved a email from abuse@gnubg.org. The subject of the email is "Account Alert". This email is not from anyone in the project or from anyone that's in any way connected to the GNU Backgammon project. Please ignore the message and do not click the link. The 'confirmation' link provided in the message is of course false. Do not click the link.



The message looks like this:


Dear Valued Member,

According to our terms of services, you will have to confirm your e-mail by the following link, or your account will be suspended within 24 hours for security reasons.

http://www.gnubg.org/confirm.php?account=oystein@gnubg.org

After following the instructions in the sheet, your account will not be interrupted and will continue as normal.

Thanks for your attention to this request. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The phisherman want's us to run a pif file on the machine with IP: 211.97.61.61. I've not checked where that is.

I have no doubt that GNU Backgammon 2-ply would show a positive result if given enough time vs. any human player in match play.
